Final Fantasy VII will be making its way to iOS devices later tonight, Square Enix has revealed. Announced for the platform this past E3, the mobile version is set to go live at midnight depending on your region.

The game is already out on the New Zealand App Store for $19.99 NZD ($13 USD) and requires around 4GB of free space to download. The iOS version features a virtual controller with analogue or d-pad type options. The opacity of on-screen controls can also be adjusted from the Config Menu. Square Enix has also added in an option to turn off enemy encounters on the world map and a max stats command to instantly boost your characters levels and abilities.

Story

With its unshakeable monopoly over Mako energy production, the evil Shinra Electric Power Company holds tight to the reigns of world power.

One day, a Mako reactor serving the sprawling metropolis of Midgar is attacked and destroyed in a bombing raid by a revolutionary group calling themselves Avalanche.

Cloud Strife, a former member of Shinra’s elite “Soldier” unit takes part in the raid as a mercenary hired by Avalanche and sets events in motion that will draw him and his friends into an epic struggle for the fate of the planet itself…

Square Enix is also working on a PlayStation 4 version of Final Fantasy VII based on the PC port, which is scheduled to release this Winter. Check out the launch trailer below.
