TOTW Predictions – Week 25 –

TOTW Predictions – Week 25 –

Although this week looks set to be weaker than what we have been seeing recently there are still some players which are worth picking up. The likes of Griezmann, Bonucci, Busquets and El Shaar all make the cut.

Last weeks score 14/23

Formation: 4-3-3 – Part one:

                                Part two:

Danijel Subašić – GK – 81 OVR

The keeper selection was by far the hardest one to make this week with no one really standing out. When this happens the safest bet is nearly always the L’equipe keeper so that is exactly what I am going with here. Subasic made five saves in total to keeper a clean sheet in Monaco’s 0-0 draw, claiming a 7/10 from L’equipe.

Leonardo Bonucci – CB – 83 OVR

Early on in the season it looked as though Juventus could have a hard time lifting the title however after an impressive streak of results they look almost guaranteed to be lifting the title once again. This week they recorded a 2-0 home win against Inter of which Bonucci claimed MOTM after scoring the opener and helping towards the clean sheet.

Branislav Ivanović – CB – 80 OVR

You might remember back in FIFA 13 Ivanovic received a CB MOTM and what an item that was. Let the nostalgia kick in as once again Ivanovic is set for a CB version, this time in the form of an IF. He scored a late winner for Chelsea as they came from behind to beat Southampton 2-1.

Aïssa Mandi – CB – 79 OVR

Week 24 had a lot of Ligue 1 players included and although there are not as many this time around there were still a few which performed to the top level. Mandi was one of those players after receiving an 8/10 form L’equipe, which is nearly always enough for a defender as he scored and assisted once during a 4-1 home win.

Christian Schulz – CB – 75 OVR

Hannover finally recorded a win after seeing eight straight defeats in the Bundesliga. Schulz was the man of the moment scoring both goals in a 2-1 away win at Stuttgart however goalkeeper Zieler should also claim some praise for his performance. Schulz was MOTM however and thus should get the nod.

Stephan El Shaarawy – LW – 80 OVR

It appears that El Shaarawy suits the Serie A style of play after putting in another good performance for Roma this weekend with a brace in a 3-1 away win at Empoli. He was superb while playing at AC Milan however it all went quiet during his spell on Monaco. This will be his SIF since his move back to the Serie A.

Marko Arnautović – LM – 79 OVR

The BPL offered very little in terms of potential TOTW players which was largely down to fewer games. However from what was available Arnautovic was the stand out player scoring both Stoke goals in a 2-1 home win against Aston Villa.

Davy Klaassen – CAM – 79 OVR

I was right in saying that the Dutch in forms would continue however I was wrong in the selection last week. This time around there is very little doubt however after Klaasen once again put in a superb performance. The Ajax playmaker scored twice as well as assisting another during  4-1 home win against in in form AZ.

Sergio Busquets – CDM – 86 OVR

Busquets put in yet another brilliant performance this weekend doing what he does best. He controlled the match for Barcelona and although he didn’t claim any goals nor assists he still played a vital part in the Barcelona turn around. He claimed an 8/10 for his efforts which was the highest alongside Messi. Pique got a 7 for those wondering.

Yunus Malli – CAM – 77 OVR

Mainz recorded an impressive 3-1 win at home to Leverkusen this week and once again it was Malli who played a pivotal role in doing so. The German talent scored two of the three Mainz goals and thus picking up MOTM with a 1.5 from kicker, the joint highest this week.

Léo Bonatini – ST – 75 OVR

Although the Portuguese league was snubbed last week I would be very surprised if the same were to happen again on Wednesday after Bonatini found the net on three occasisons in a 3-0 home win for Estoril. Although he also missed a penalty to make it four after claiming player of the week alongside his hat trick he is pretty much a certainty.

Bartosz Białkowski – GK – 67 OVR

The goalkeeper options were very short this week so when I saw that Bartosz was keeper of the week in the Npower leagues I was always going to select him. The Ipswich keeper was superb during the tractor boys 1-0 away win against Huddersfield. He made 5 saves in total to help Ipswich towards the play offs.

Luca Antonelli – LB – 77 OVR

Occasionally the defenders seem to be very predictable and for me I think that this is one of those weeks. Antonelli is the first selected after he scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 home win for AC Milan as they hosted Torino. He claimed a 7 from Gazzetta which should see him in.

David Fuster – RM – 71 OVR

We saw the first league win this week as Olympiakos claim the title in record breaking time for the Greek League with a 3-0 home win against Veria. Fuster was the MOTM from that game with two goals and thus should pick up an IF/MOTM/Hero.

Aketxe – LM – 74 OVR

From a prediction POV when a midfielder scores a hat trick it is one of the easiest selections possible. That is exactly what Aketxe managed, scoring three times from the left side of midfield in a 4-2 win.

Jakub Świerczok – ST – 65 OVR

Over to Poland now and we have an Ekstraklasa player for the third week running after Swierczok scored all three of Leczna’s goals in a 3-2 home win. Two of his goals were from the penalty spot however I think that he still makes the cut.

Yaya Sanogo – ST – 70 OVR

It’s not often that a player receives an IF from the losing side however back in Fifa 13, yes all that way back there were two occasions which it did happen, both of which were for hat tricks. Sanogo did exactly that scoring all three Charlton goals in a 4-3 loss at home to Reading.

Marco Ruben – ST – 76 OVR

Believe it or not strikers were actually hard to come by for week 25 and thus I have a gold striker occupying one of the bench spots. Ruben was involved in all three of Rosario’s goals in a 3-0 win scoring twice and assisting the other.

Sergi Darder – CM – 76 OVR

There is a very good chance that we will see a Lyon player included after a 2-1 win at home to PSG however who that will be is a hard question. I have opted Darder who scored one of the two goals however both Ferri and Cornet who scored the other received an 8/10 from L’equipe.

Samu Castillejo – LM – 77 OVR

It was another quiet week in terms of BBVA candidates this time around however if there is one player which stood out it has to be Castillejo. The young Spanish winger scored one of Villarreal’s three goals in a 3-0 home win against Levante. He claimed a massive 9/10 from Marca of which played a massive role in his selection.

Naby Keïta – CM – 71 OVR

Keita was largely helped by the fact that his SIF will be a gold and thus making the gold reserves which is often the case. He scored two for Salzburg in a 4-1 win against Austria Vienna who are one of Salzburgs main title contenders, if you can call them that.

Craig Gardner – CM – 75 OVR

If it had not been for Gardner and Palace’s horrific defence I might have had the pleasure of predicting a Wickham IF but instead I have Gardner (Dear EA if you are reading this an IF Wickham wouldn’t go a miss). Gardner was involved in two of WBA’s three goals with both a goal and an assist.

Antoine Griezmann – ST – 84 OVR

This one is a punt due to the fact that he only scored once which for a TIF could be pushing it however it was the only goal in a 1-0 win against Real Madrid. Godin is the other option however that would be his fifth IF which simply for a good performance is pushing it as well.
